Hirth's career as a solo recording artist began with a helping hand from Bob Dylan, which led to the release of his first two critically acclaimed albums, Hirth From Earth and Big Bright Street. Both were released on Warner Bros. Records and reissued on Warner Bros. Japan.
Hirth wrote thousands of song and poems. His songs range from Jobim-styled sambas to stunning ballads, blues, and jazz. Hirth is known for his with sophisticated melodies, haunting lyrics, and beautiful rhymes.
